First 2026 selection announced

The new programme brings stories from Lagos, Tunis, Khartoum, Accra, Dakar and Malmö into one shared festival weekend at Biograf Panora.

Ubuntu Malmö Film Festival 2026 brings together a broad selection of African and diaspora cinema, from intimate family dramas to archival documentaries and politically charged stories of resistance.

The first selection introduces films from Nigeria, Tunisia, Sudan, Ghana, South Africa, Senegal and beyond. Together they point toward the festival's central idea: cinema as a place where community, memory and imagination meet.
